Here's a study that just came out that dispels many things that I thought about stretching:

Keep in mind that they even say that stretching & flexibility should be specific to your needs.

VERY INTERESTING. I'm not shocked. The study confirms what I suspected from personal experience and observation.
ReplyDeleteI've come to believe, when lifting, it is efficient to stretch AFTER lifting as the body is destined to increase muscle mass-- the muscles having been worked to exhaustion. Lengthening the muscles promotes this process which will begin soon, within the hour, accompanied by a small (about 150 calorie) snack.
